Twister-like Supercell gets a Digital release in June as Alec Baldwin, Anne Heche, Skeet Ulrich and Daniel Diemer go storm-chasing in the name of thrills and profit.

Supercell - storm chaser movie

Supercell, which has proven to be a hit with Rotten Tomatoes audiences, arrives on Digital Download in June. It will perhaps attract viewers as the first new film released by Alec Baldwin since the death of Halyna Hutchins, and a posthumous release for the late Anne Heche who died in 2022 following a car crash.

Described by some to be as good as TwisterSupercell sees William (Daniel Diemer), son of legendary storm chaser Bill Brody (Richard Gunn), following in his late father’s footsteps only to find his family name being used by a storm-chasing tour company who are using Brody’s legacy to line their pockets.

The man in charge is the greedy and reckless Zane Rogers (Baldwin), who uses William as the main attraction to lead groups of unsuspecting adventurers dangerously close to the storms. Roy, William’s father’s old partner, tries to keep him out of harm’s way as his mother and girlfriend race to find him and bring him home, but mother nature has other plans.

In his positive review, Noel Murray of the Los Angeles Times praised the film’s staging, its impressive digital storm effects, and the presence of Baldwin and Heche.
